Roman Wróblewski Trio

/ˈrɔ.man vrubˈlɛ.ski trio/

Is an intriguing blend of ethnic music, classical music and improvisation. The unconventional set of instruments and the diversity of styles in which the band's musicians move on a daily basis already promise a unique expedition into hitherto unknown sounds.

Their debut album „Sun" was released in September 2022. The whole album is a recording of a concert recorded live in the Radio Gdańsk studio. Roman Wróblewski's compositions, enriched by the sounds of the cello played by Weronika Kulpa, sound exceptionally rich.

„Conveying emotion and feeling with the piano requires more than just technical ability, it needs depth and understanding, and throughout 3.47am Roman’s ability to do just that shines through.”

„If you love the greats like Debussy, Einaudi, and Frahm, you will spot in his music material dashes of impressionistic melodies with clarity, vision, and purpose.” - Give it a spin.gr

The third important link in the band, is the experienced flamenco percussionist Luati Gonzalez. This Cadiz-born percussion virtuoso brings a great deal of energy to the project, and his fiery temperament, characteristic of southern Spanish musicians, adds a lot of warmth and specific colour.

The debut album features compositions that draw on traditional West African rhythms such as kuku (title track 'Sun') or Middle Eastern traditions in the form of the saidi rhythm on which the track 'Kuba' is based. This is complemented by several tracks from Roman Wroblewski's debut album, in new, richer arrangements, and guest recordings by several outstanding instrumentalists - Natan Kryszk (saxophones), Xenia Uranova (darbuka) and Stanislav Nowodworski (djembe).

After three very successful, partly sold-out tours in Poland and Portugal, the trio has gained a solid fan base, is working on new material and is preparing for a tour of several European countries.
